No Need For Pain Killers

Many of us often rush for the bottle of pain killers the second we get a headache or back ache. But are we doing our bodies a disservice by doing this? The answer is most definitely yes, because we are merely masking the symptoms using those pain killers rather than finding the true cause of your pain.

Dr. Hampton uses x-rays to identify causes of your pain, eliminating the need for pain killers.

When it comes to back pain and headaches, the pain is the effect and not the cause. So by taking pain killers, we are not solving the root cause of the problem. Similar to when your check engine light comes on in your car, you’re not going to have the check engine light turned off and then continue driving your car; you’re going to have the problem with your engine identified and fixed by the car mechanic so that your car doesn’t breakdown. Again, by taking pain killers, this is equivalent to just having the mechanic turn your check engine light off without addressing/fixing the problem with the engine.

In the case of headaches or back pain, these are symptoms of something going wrong with your body’s metaphorical engine. The job of the chiropractor is to identify the potential link between the spine and your headaches/back pain. The chiropractor then acts as the mechanic and adjusts your spine accordingly, eliminating the cause of your headaches/back pain altogether.

Our bodies are designed to be self-healing, self-regulating and chiropractic care allows the body to function like it’s supposed to. Unfortunately, many people are trained to take a pain killer whenever they have pain, rather than addressing the root cause by getting adjusted by their chiropractor.

Now, at first glance, it may seem expensive to go to the chiropractor every time you have pain; however, the problem is being addressed every time you get adjusted, so you will begin experiencing fewer headaches/back pain as a result. This means fewer visits to the chiropractor. And in turn, the chiropractor is not as expensive as you thought. And more importantly, your body is now thanking you for it because you feel better and no longer have pain.

And, while chiropractic is your best bet the next time you have a back ache or headache, it is important to remember to get adjusted on a routine basis regardless if you’re in pain. Just like you take your car in for regular maintenance i.e. oil changes, you need to take yourself in for regular chiropractic care. Again, every time you get adjusted you are doing something good for your health and adding metaphorical mileage to your car.
